Hot on the heels of last year’s Progress App Dev Challenge, the winners of which were announced at Progress Exchange in Boston last October, we are very pleased to throw down the gauntlet again and announce the launch of this year’s competition!

The 2014 Progress App Dev Challenge is now open for entries from more than 100,000 existing OpenEdge users across EMEA.

The competition will see entrants from the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Austria, Benelux, Spain and France battling it out for a number of individual and collective prizes. More importantly, they will also be competing for the prestige of being selected as one of four regional Progress App Dev Challenge winners!

Entrants must design, build and demonstrate an innovative application built using Progress Rollbase before the closing date of March 31st. Winners will be judged on the quality, creativity and ingenuity of their applications, with prizes on offer for individuals as well as organizations.

Individual prizes for this year’s competition include an iPad Mini Retina, a Bose speaker, and an Apple TV for four regional winners. Organizations in each of the four regions will also be recognized for their efforts with a bundle of tablets for them and their workforce to use.

Mark Armstrong, Vice President and Managing Director, EMEA operations at Progress said: “After the success of last year’s competition, we’re excited to kick-off the 2014 Progress App Dev Challenge. This year, we’re looking for the most innovative app built using the latest version of Rollbase. If last year’s entries are any guide, I’m looking forward to seeing an outstanding quality of entry.  The app that takes the grand prize will be one that showcases the ability of Rollbase, combining a high standard of user interface design with a well-executed idea and speedy application performance. Let the battle commence!”
